Indeed, the signs of the last hour are all around us. Some subtle, others very obvious. We are living in a scary world. FYI, North Carolina residents are going to the booth on May 8 to vote for or vote against gay marriage. The Amendment One is the buzz word going around now and both sides are really heated up. Oh well, without much ado, as Muslims, we owe allegiance only to Allaah, for He is our Creator and the Best Fashioner. As a reminder, we should remember Prophet Lut, alayhes salaam. We should remember that he was the prophet that advised his people to stay away from fahshah and any kind of wrongdoing that was against the shari'ah. One of the biggest sins during his time was the sexual acts among men. They did not listen and they were totally punished for their openly committed sins. Muslims! Please voice out by going out to vote on May 8, 2012. Enjoin what is right and join those who forbid what is evil in any form and every form. Do not let desensitization, shyness, fear, or "It does not bother me" attitude, prevent you from voting on this day. Remember, there are so many non-Muslims voicing out against gay marriage. "Whosoever of you sees an evil action, let him change it with his hand; and if he is not able to do so, then with his tongue; and if he is not able to do so, then with his heart – and that is the weakest of faith." - Hadith in al-Bukhari May Allaah count us among those who are the strongest in faith, aameen. May Allaah count us among those who would not fail in conveying the truth even in the face of oppressors and tyrants, aameen. Download your registration form here: www.ncsbe.gov As salaamu alaykum!

I read a food article yesterday and had to share the news with my family. Actually, we ended up watching a video online. It was a disgusting food scene, so to speak. It is unbelievable that the food giants of the USA, both *USDA and *FDA, will still refuse to label all foods. Don't we, as people, as contributing members of this society, have the right to know what we consume? People, wake up! A lot of our foods out there, are junk foods. Period. Muslims, it is time to raise our alarms and move from being passive food lovers to active consumers. We all love food and we eat to live, and not live to eat. We need to know the sources of our food, where they come from, and how they are manufactured. Jamie Oliver, a well known chef, created a lot of awareness for society members, especially parents. Many Muslim parents have kids in public schools. Well this video is FYI. And after watching it, spread the word. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2092127/Jamie-Oliver-Victory-McDonalds-stops-using-pink-slime-burger-recipe.html As salaamu alaykum!
Hmm...Shari'ah law are the buzz words in Florida right now, and some senators are working so hard to pass a bill that opposes shari'ah law. So, as concerned Muslims living as religious minorities in a non-Muslim country, and contributing big time, to the economy of the country, are we ready to just fold our hands and watch, or make a posiive impact by creating awareness of the shari'ah law? If you cannot do much as a Muslim, at least, do the following things: 1. Make sincere dua. If people knew what shari'ah is, they will crave for it with every nerve of their body. Unfortunately, many people, including many Muslims, are ignorant of this religious law. Oh, Muslims, read! 2.Join Sound Vision as a volunteer and write on shariah law. But know what you want to write about before you pen down anything. 3. Call the senators in your state. 4. Call the mayors in your cities 5. Get involved in the local level and be informed. 6. Talk to your neighbors and colleagues at school and at work. 7. Don't forget the most important unit of a society, the family. Your family, including your children, should start learning about the divine law of Allaah. Remember this, dear parents. You are their first and best teachers. It does not do us any good to be ignorant of what is going on around us. It's our duty to spread awareness of Islam so as to eliminate fear mongering. As Muslims, we have absolutely nothing to hide because Islam is indeed a treasure for mankind. And if something is a treasure and it means a lot for us, then we need to spread the word about it. Of course, there is no coercion in religion. But truth is distinct from falsehood. Are you ready to take action? Click on the link below and know what's happening in Florida and around the country. Make Allaah count us among those who enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong, aameen. http://www.stopsb1360.org/2012/03/08/religious-leaders-condemn-anti-sharia-bill/ As salaamu alaykum!
