Welcome to my website - Maryam's Musings, a collection of articles, stories, and poems.

I wrote my first short story at the age of 10. I am a mother of 4 children who keep me vibrant with their different and diverse personalities.

I am a freelance editor and writer who explores topics as diverse as the medicinal black seed and self-defense classes for women. I am also a health educator with a keen interest on nutrition education and physical activity as well as nutrition research, ranging from the healing benefits of food, to the impact of genetically engineered food on our fragile bodies. I enjoy attending the Muslims in Dietetics and Nutrition's webinars, Minority Health webinars, Writers' Conferences, Al Maghrib Institute's seminars, as well as Sisters' and Women's conventions. I enjoy traveling too, and I hope someday, to join the cadre of health professionals working at Islamic Relief, Muslims Without Borders, and the Peace Corps, by volunteering my time as a community public health educator, bi idhnillaah.
